Core Drills remove only a fraction of the material of a twist drill, for the same diameter. The remaining core is ejected as the drilling process finishes. Minimal power and feed pressures are required compared to a twist drill. With twist drills it is often required to pre-drill. This is not necessary when using core drills, as you can drill straight through with the diameter required. Centrifugal force keeps the coolant on the core drill (internally) instead of throwing it out, minimizing overspray and cooling more effectively.
